chritmas eve a mate of mine came over and wanted to hear the car running so i went to sart it, it was cranking but all of a sudden it died lost all power and all dash lights went and now its not doing anything.
ive been out today and changed the ignition barrel, checked my earth from battery to chasis, engine to chasis and the earth in passenger footwell. have also put a new battery in
ive have checked the voltage at the connections under the steering wheel and the red wire is at a constant 12v the orange at 12v cranking and the 2 yellow ones are 12v cranking and ignition. but all these wires are constantly at 10v. i have been checking the wires around dash with the voltmeter and there is 12v on igniton with the electric window switches and 12v at the motor when button is pushed but the window dosent work.
the only thing that seems to work is the window wipers.
oh and its got a b18ft engine in it which was running before this happened
any help appreciated as ive currently got a black bag over the window because i cant do the fecker up:) cheers paul
