Bit of a strange one, the stick in my 5 sits further forward than usual, in 1st and 3rd my knuckle almost hits the Center console. Would a previous owner have heated and bent it or can they be adjusted somehow? Perhaps when I built up the shell I bolted something in wrong though it drives and shifts normally.
Strange as I can't see where I could adjust it back to normal.
It's a job I need to fix as I'm a big chap so my bucket seat is bolted right back in the car, this makes it a real reach for the shifter, not ideal at all.

I remember driving your car mate, the gear stick is backwards.
Take the whole lot out the car, swing the rod 180deg and then fit it back in so gearstick angles backwards
