First post!

Hi. im quite new but have owned a few renault 5's. Today i bought this red one with ronal turbo alloys. car is quite clean for its age.
Anyway i got it home to find the engine is f**ked so going to have a full rebuild and posibly throw a new turbo on.

Has anyone got any ino on this car?

im on anglesey. its ok my brothers are mechanics so going to pull the head of monday. atleast i know it will be spot on once done :)

There was/is one on eBay with Ronal turbos if that's the one? If it is then you need to give the seller some stick even if there's nothing you can do about it if it's sold as seen, just let abit of anger out at him/ shake him up abit...spoil his Christmas.

Yes its the one off ebay.

i say ****ed as in its smokes alot when u come off boost, so got it home opened bonnet to find cream oil everywhere, even coming out of the airfilter :(

so to save any more hastle its just gna get full rebuild. i do want to keep it origional but also cant stop the temptation of uprated parts. :devil:

but what about the cream oil? id love to think i could change the oil and turbo and job done. but my luck never works like that

hmmm unless the turbo has gone and mixed the oil and water that way? Id be the hapiest guy alive if this was the case. first thing i will check tomoz :D

Does it drive ok? If so maybe a liner seal has split and causing water to seep into the oil.
Worth checking to see if that, least you'll know what you got ahead of you

Yeah these engines have wet liners so they have a seal at the bottom of them to stop water around them entering the sump
