Hello all. I am having to leave the UK quite soon to go to switzerland for a year, but have a 2 issues. 1 I have a 7yr old dog (Rotweiller) that i love dearly, and dont really know who to give it to,,, and 2. My r5 Gtt which i've had for 10 yrs that i dont wish to sell. I dont know anyone with a garage or drive way that i can leave it on, and although i have tax,, i dont wanna leave it on the road for a yr. :O Is there anywhere I can leave it in some sort of garage/storage that is like really cheap or somthing? or any other option? i js cant think of anything and dont really have anyone to look after it :(

I js thought id throw this out there and see if i get a response :crap: any advice will at least make food for thought for me as i dont really have any ideas atm..

My advise would be to chat up a local farmer & ask to store in a corner of a barn for a small fee... explain u wont be coming over every weekend (ie you wont be getting in his way or working on your car)... I am sure some farmer will take it on....

If my in-laws wernt moving I would ask to borrow a corner of there barn :(

hmmm ye.. sounds like a good idea.. but i dont know where my closest farm(s) are :scared:. That probably sounds quite dumb, and there are probably loads. How do you find em? :cartman:

thanks for considering to take it.. I js read that :P

i know  but right now i dont have a choice. This is the last thing that ive wanted. Truth is i cant afford my own place right now and im having to leave my gf too (of a few years). Im very sadend by all this, and its I feel like its alot to take in and deal with.

Ive been to a few dog shelters,, but wenever i go,, it js brings a tear to my eye. She's been my baby for 7 yrs.. and she loves me so much.I dont wanna end up giving her to a dog trust or anything, but i really dont have a choice right now and im struggling to find anyone who i can give her to. I dont want her ending up in the wrong hands either,. Trust me this is really not what i wanted. It is not permitted to take Rottweilers to switzerland now since they are considered as a dangerous dog. Plus Id be moving into a flat which isnt an option for her. (shes and outdoor/guard dog used to running around). :(

here she is :(

i think the main issue is do you think there is anything else in this country worth coming back for, switzerland is one of the few countries that still has a decent economy, coming back to the uk is going to be a serious downer

Thank you Tom for your consideration. TBH she would need someone who knows and understands dogs well. Shes such a smart dog (the smartest ive ever had),,, even tho shes not young,, she learns thing in an instant. e.g... if i buy a new toy/ball. and i repeat what its called.... she can remmember it in about 2 mins.. and fetch it out of the rest of her toys (about 20).... and she knows all different types of balls... squeeky balls, footballs, tennis balls... so she fetches whatever i tell her. But she also has been raised as a guard dog, guarding the house.. mainly staying out in the garden. Shes had to be toughened up,, as where i used to live,, there were alot of idiots and drunks trying to jump over the fence at times and do things ie steal or whatever. She also is very protective of me,, and she doesnt like many coming to close to me :P and also,, unfortunatly,, shes been in a couple of fights with other dogs (other owners fault!) and that has also made her defensive of other dogs,, but now unfortunatly,, she doesnt like other dogs anymore :( shes been loved alot, and i can converstate with her and do at times,, she stares and looks as if shes trying her hardest to understand. Usually if i command her to do somthing,, id do it as if im js talking to a person.. and not sounding like a command. Shes been my like a child to me, and as i write this i get real emotional :(. I js want and pray that she goes somewhere where she will be loved and looked after.

yes your right,, but i think this for a reason. I believe switzerland has been kept as a 'neutrual' country for a reason. I believe its kinda of a safe haven for bilderburg/illluminati groups,, as the swiss are responsible for keeping the richest organisations Gold and money, that and other reasons. But anyway.. thats another story for another day. you are right about the economy, its beter than here at the moment,, but im sure it will collapse also.. one day.

After 1 yr there,, i will decide if its worth me coming back. If i somehow find someone to adopt Roxi for a year,, and my car,,, then id like to come back... il cross that bridge after 1 yr. I really love my car too that much lol

I will have a word with my Dad and see if we can find room for a year....
We are sending 2 cup cars owned by one chap to Spain in January, so room may be there. Not sure what the going rate is though - it is a dry and insured space .....
We are just outside the M25, 7 miles up the M11 - Harlow :)

hmmm thanks. Do you work on 5's too? im js thinkin while im away,, theres probably a few things need doing too.. like replacing a door,, and other bits and bobs i havent got around too. So while im away,, whoever i give it too.. maybe it would be good if they can fix too. And also... it maybe possible that i come back maybe after a few months. At the moment its a year,, but you never know.. things change all the time :S

I'll let you know when I have spoken to him regarding storage.
Yeah, he has worked on the Gt Turbo since it came out, preparing many of the cup cars from '88 to the present day.
PM you soon :)
