New poster! (less than 10 posts)

Hey guys,

About time I introduce myself.

My names Ross and I'm a gt turbo aholic :p

My first car at 17 was a gt turbo (12 years ago) and after a string of them including the old euro parts van, I've just bought a lovely low mileage standard phase two that I plan to tidy up and enjoy.

I hope the pics are visible to you ok. I suck at computer witchcraft!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome :D

Well, today was my first drive of the 5 and what a blast it's been. I've covered 130 miles visiting friends all over Lincolnshire and its performed excellently.

Yesterday I fitted a new cooling fan switch from cgb which is meant to be a low temp one but the cooling fan is still cutting in at exactly the same point (3rd mark) so will have to ring them in the morning. It's a bit annoying as it took ages to bleed it up properly and is a waste of fresh coolant if I've got to fit another :(
There's nothing wrong with the cooling system but it's just peace of mind really.

It's by far the slowest 5 I've had being as its standard but it's such a joy to drive I don't actually care.

I still have the engine from the old euro parts van which was an animal so I may look out for another extra to transplant it in as I'm missing big boost pressure.

As for the side decals, I'm going to leave it without. My first car never had them either and I prefer them off really.

On to the camper.

I bought it probably 8 years ago and have changed the interior for a Devon copy. I got married in march this year and had it painted in the gulf racing colour scheme for the wedding. My wife had a split screen as her wedding car so I thought it a perfect excuse to get mine painted and turn up in that myself.

It's slammed over a set of Porsche 356 steels and still rides comfortably. Also fitted is a cap disc brake kit which is handy

The engine is a 2332cc air cooled stroker. Is bloody quick being a street/strip engine and mated up to a beetle gt straight axle gearbox. I need to have the carbs re tuned but finding a reputable dyno that's experienced with air cooled engines is hard.

Again I hope the pics come out ok.
