Well i bought my white H reg gt turbo off TrixNFlix about 12 months back, Ive drove it in the same spec as i got it but then started changing a few bits...Now i've always been into the race car look so after some consideration its now under going a HUGE transformation into a full on track/fast road car. Spec is as follows or will do when complete by march.

Fully stripped out shell
Plexi windows all round
carbon fibre bucket seats
4point harnesses
4" omp dish steering wheel
AFR gauge/shift light
Quick shift
straight cut gears and reconditioned box
6 point welded cage
drag spec incar fuel cell
high spec fuel pump/filter/regulator/braided lines
4 pot brakes/ uprated disc's n pads all round
braided brake lines
polly bushed throughout
very expensive coilovers (track spec)
carbon fibre door cards
looverd bonnet/4x bonnet pins (lift off bonnet)
adjustable rear spoiler
15" turbines matt black
r888 tyres
front mounted intercooler
modified carb
pace charge cooler
VNT turbo
blah blah blah...engine 200+ bhp
limited slip diff (sooo expensive):eek:

200+ bhp 200+ft +700kg = beast!

sounds good, although track use and a drag spec fuel tank may be interesting... i thought drag ones only hold a gallon, which would mean couple of laps per tank :laugh:

that looks like its got slightly wider front and rear arches.!
ive seen a wider kit in the std kit style, i wonder if its the same kit?
i cant find the link though.

Got the car fired up tonight 1st time in 2 months...

Holly s**t it sounds like a v12!!

Very light now and wheel spinning in 3rd!! limited slip diff required asap!:laugh:

Funds have run out now till next month, Still a long way off but at least its running again!

Trackday booked for end of febuary at oulton park!:devil:

I don't want the bald look, I want to make something thats marmite! Love it or hate it it's gonna be something different! I've seen so many 5's spin out on high speed corners that a spoiler is gonna help out some what I'm hoping anyway as its gonna be used hard on track! I don't like the oe look I like extreme track look! Like time attack cars etc...
If I don't get enough power from the c1j lump to match the looks I'll drop something else Renault inn it!

Sorry I'm waffling on now!

I don't really want to put the pic's up just yet as I'm just in the middle of making widened standard arches for the front and back like the prima ones, still need tyres for the new wheels as soon as the arches are finished and the wheels are on I'll get some sneak peak pic's up!
Another 10k and a ahit load of labour and it should be nearly done!! I hope!:)

Ok weather has been crap today! :(
Had plans for dropping the engine now been delayed! I can see this project getting way out of hand, I started this project with a few mods in mind to make it a solid track based road car! Now it's gone into another realm!! I've decided to have the shell sent off for a chemical clean!! 1000 quid!!! Then having loads of work done on the body, cage extended to front suspension mounts, floor mounts boxed inn, extra diagonal in rear and a harness bar! Also tieing the front and sides into the shell, battery shuttle area cut out, inner door metal cut out! Plus any welding to stiffen up weak areas!

Once all this is done its having a full inside outside respay in brilliant white!

Custom arches (twice as wide as standard)
Modified rear bumper with adjustable rear diffuser
Custom side skirts
K-tec front bumper modified
Custom splitter
Voltex carbon canards
Lancia Evo mirrors
Loovered and raised bonnet
Roof scoop
Custom fully adjustable rear spoiler
Poly carb windows all round

Well had a great day on the 5 today!
Full inside painted matt black, fitted seats, harnesses, plumbed in fuel cell, sorted 90% of the loom, fitted front bumper which can now be fitted or removed in seconds as I've used bonnet pins though the front!! The car is looking awesome! More tomorrow!

I'll upload some more this week, I've now plumbed in the fuel tank fitted the race spec fuel pump/filter in the boot and used red fuel lines! Wiring loom went back in today, also just ordered some r888's!:cool:

I need to make a fire wall for between the tank and the battery!! As its going to end in flames!:crap:

Nxt up is more roll age fabrication, extra bars and boxed in floor mounts, also going to tie it to the shell and front struts, then fab up some custom top mount adjusters so I can run run **** loads of camber! Yellow headlights, fit the rear wing, and coilovers! Getting there....still got the engine to sort out as well! Thanks for the kind words! It wil be getting thrashed to death when completed! :devil:

Lol no its a custom big wing! The top part is a Tarmac spoiler the whole thing is fully adjustable, it's hard to imagine it but once on with the front splitters and canards it just looks right! I'll get some pics up ASAP with the wing installed, also my trick front arches! Looks mean!! :devil:

Lol I've got the seat pads for them! The last seats were shocking! I went out in the car and the seat snapped!!! Never buying cheap eBay stuff again!

Added some extra stregth to the steering mount plus a bars underneath as this is always a weak point when steering hard with no power steering!!
Looks a bit ruff but with be hiden by the ally digi display housing!

I've got seat pads for them so shouldn't be too bad! Seats are just resting in ATM I'm waiting for the side mounts to arrive, should be here tomorrow I won't need stilts lol ;)

Yeah I will defo come up mate and you can get your missis to do me a brew!! ;) I got it from a mate that runs a company called speedycom, they fit them on there race bikes, got all the sensors to monitor speed, revs 11k rpm!! Don't think i'll be needing that tho lol, lap and split times, also can monitor oil, fuel etc but not using those functions, as I've got the gauges for those!

Managed to squeeze a few hrs in today!

Seats now perfect in situ! Also made up my electrics panel (see picture)

Wheels off for a refurb Wednesday, having them done black again, then on with r888's and 25mm hub adaptors!

Hopefully then over to haz for coilovers and slammed on its ass!!

Fitted coilovers today! :) very happy with them, dropped the front end about an inch or so! (slammed) thing is now with hard coilovers and alloy bucket seats it's not the comfiest ride!! Haha smash my spine if I go over a pebble! Took a few pics some you will notice my mates Clio 200 in!

Yes, price definetly acceptably. I need to look into this since I may have to start my CF dashboard making soon and I could look into replacing old dials with this if I still can get through mot and if it's lighter than oe dials. Was wiring it up difficult?

MOT should be fine as they are used in road legal kit cars, it's a lot lighter than the OE dials, also much brighter (visable) wiring is very easy, you get full instructions and they have a help line but I'm not sure the help line would be much good if your ringing from Finland! Website also has a help section!

Update:

Things are moving on....

Car is in wabtec developments getting fabrication work done. Having cage beefed up with extra bars, weld in corner lugs, getting cage tied into windscreen also front suspension mounts!

Next up,

Ive orderd
polly windows all round
Pro slider kits for both sides
Rear air scoop intakes x2
Cold air feed tubing
Braided 8mm fuel lines 10 x alloy clips
Goodridge ends
Sytec motorsport fuel filter (anodised red)
150 piece bolts blue anodised for windows etc
Tilton blue anodised brake bias valve

Also bought a pace products alloy radiator (which is being mounted in the rear end)
Prosport polished header tank

russ, as the lads have said, keep the faith, get the ole girl on the track as soon as you can , get the bug and the enthusiasism ..if that how you spell it..:laugh: will come in buckets!!!!!, forget the efi, enjoy the engine in it for now and get the ole girl out there!!!!

I agree put the efi off for a little while and enjoy the car as is, first trackday i did was in an old xr3i on coilovers stripped but std otherwise, had an amazing time sliding it round. you make a car too good its not necessarily more fun... y slide a car round at 100 when you can do it at 60? :D

I keep moving the goal posts further away each month, I've got enough to be doing before I buy or start anything else! Although I'm loving the look of these willwood brake pedals! Lol :p
On a serious note all it really needs is a larger turbo, a good tune up, rear torsion bar dropping and my r888's fitting! Do a track day get a feel for it then go from there!

Well I've decided to put the 5 project on hold! Its going into storage for a while! I can't keep spending ££££'s on it every month! So dry storage it is, going to declare it sorn and maybe come back to it in a few months or years!:cry:

Just do it in stages mate, unless you have deep pockets its not cheap to build a sorted gtt. You could defo enjoy it for a few trackdays as it is.

know how you feel, it does get you down sometimes ,but keep up the good work, will be worth it in the end, as others have said, enjoy the engine as it is , and just tweek the handling, that alone will make a huge difference on track. and next year or the year after that then do the engine :cooter:,mine was only suppose to take a year..............4 years later:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:,

love the spoiler idea, in the process of designing some adjustable water cut alloy brackets made up with rose joints to adjust deflection angles, will give you a pm nearer the time if your up for a set ;)

Ok happy new year for starters!
My cars been sat now for a few months, so the other day I got bored and thought hmmm what else can I do with the old gal?!

Well....
She now has no engine!
And a huge hole cut in the boot floor!!!
Yep I've gone insane! I've decided the ultimate mod is mid engine and rear wheel drive!!!

So all there is to do now is fit it in the rear!

Can anyone advise?? Pictures?? Looks quite easy!

If your still going down the track car route you will spend a lot of time driving backwards as the car will be spinning all over the place,depending on balance ,power etc good rally car though;)
