ideally you want a 45 profile, iv got 195/50/15 on front and it just rubs a tad on full lock

Are both wheels rubbing on full lock?
My old 15" wheels just rubbed the iner arch when on full lock:)

Only against the inside not on the wings
Obviously a 45 is slightly smaller ?
And yes only on full lock .
I also want to drop it slightly so need to
Bear this in mind.

Cheers guys

i used to get rubbing with 45 profile falkens,i think it was more due to the wheel offset tho,you could always fit some ?mm spacers?
:)

usually over about 45-50 profile the sidewalls tend to buldge outwards and are actually wider than the tyre width, lower profile tend to have stronger straighter sidewalls.

So what would be the best guys

185 45/50 15 is a pretty rare size, u may be able to fit a 195 with a lower profile, maybe worth a try with a part worn or something? perhaps a 5mm spacer, but then ull need longer wheel bolts :(

Thanks tony , i think it only needs a few mm anyway
Does anyone have a clue where i would find spacers and
longer bolts

Cheers gary

Be ok to use 5mm spacers without longer wheel bolts, ive done this for years, std wheel bolts have loads of thread, anything after 5mm spaces needs longer bolts-

different alloys are prob slightly different thicknesses, at 90nm on my alloys kei racing force 10s 3 tightened and 1 started to take the threads, in my opinion as a mechanic there wasnt enough thread and i took them off till i got longer bolts off another vehicle i cant remember what they where tho sorry.

amazing how different brands of tyre are different regards sidewalls to,some are virtually flat giving clearance whilst other bulge out in same 45 profile to,had a set of hancook once and they were flat on the sidewalls.

demontweeks have longer m12 wheel bolts but they come with a 17mm head

i run 195 45 15 with 5mm spacers, although i dont have a 5 turbo i have a mk1 clio which isnt too dissimilar,

plenty of thread on my wheel bolts. any more than 5mm spacers and i would start thinking of changing them though.

clio phase 1 turbine wheels are ok m8 with renaults std bolts and 5mm spaces, yeah other aftermarket wheels may not be a good, had them fitted on my 5 now and for last 7 years just to make the wheel look better in the arch, ive never measured the thread after the spacer but looks over 1 and half times the thread looks ok to me as engineer/toolmaker, so save your money for xmas :santa: you should be able to get spacers from any car shop i.e halfords.

best to use hub centric spacers after 5mm as wheels will not line up with hub on phase 1's wheels.
