Hi guys i have a problem my alt belt keep truing up side down on the pules and some times it pops out when hard take off any tips
phase i 16 v turbo

Have you got the bracket on the water pump that helps keep in in place? One of these?

Here are there pictures I have.
Mike is spot on.
I kept losing my belt years ago until i realised my bracket was missing. It does make a big difference.:)

Many tanks i dont have it on my new pump i see if i can find it now all the 5 have them or only the gtt one

check all pulleys line up, the bracket helps but it shouldnt be doing this normally.
bushes on the alternator can cause it to move about. if youve fitted a new waterpump check the pulley is ok on it.
Once the belt has spun over you will need to change it for a new one, buy an o.e solid belt and check all the pulleys are inline & alternator bushes are ok.

Only the late Phase 2 came with them.

is the bottom/crank pulley fitted the correct way round. it is pos for it to go on backwards
there is a little -> stamped on the outside face
