As you know we are up to our necks in planning the National Day 2012 and given the good feedback we've had from the recent Blyton Park trackday it looks as though it's going to be a good event!! :niceone:

As discussed we are going to have access to the barn for a bit of a communal meet & greet in the evening so am wondering if there are any members that are budding DJ's that could bring along some decks & lights to make the event a bit more of a disco?!

I WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT AT THIS POINT THAT WE ARE NOT PUTTING ON FANTASIA 2012 & AS AGREED WITH THE OWNER OF BLYTON, THE FESTIVITIES WILL END AT MIDNIGHT!

So if you are willing to help, please PM either myself and/or Lomo?

:D

I have offered to bring my traktor pro software & mixer, this means we can use anybodies CD's so aren't limited to dance music as I can rip them & then play them( I have a fair bit of dance music, trance, house, garage etc being an ex pub/bedroom dj & can download more in the meantime).
Thing is I can prob get some small monitors & a small sub, this does garden parties, not sure if it would do a barn though (having not seen it) & I don't have any lights etc.

What are the exact plans for this, house party, wedding or rave up ?

Also if anybody else has anything better then shout up :agree: .

PS, I assume there is power thinking about it ???

If thats waht you want to do it's beyond what I can supply, you need a propper DJ then.
I thought it was just a bit of background music more than a propper knees up TBH.

I have some technics 1200s, mixer and some 500w speakers with built in amps, all you would need would be a few lights and bingo.

I have just finished converting my 12" to mp3 and may have gone to cdj's by next year which is easier again, no record boxes to lump round.

I have enough records to go all night.

My collection is early rave shall we say from 88-93, like n-joi, 808 state, acen, sl2 etc. Stuff from 93-95 Scottish techno, which is bands like ultrasonic, trs and most things with scott brown. I have happy hardcore from 94-00 and trance from 98-present, anthem things like tiesto, van buuren etc.

I scaffy rig would be good :agree:

What counts as a "small party system", £300, for up to 200 people? And what are the extra costs for "the crew"?

It's doesn't have to be all that small really. It's going in that barn thing.

I don't know if we know if we'll be wanting some quiet background music during the day as well.

wish i still had my mobile disco unit from back in the 80's. it would have been good to blow the old cobwebbs off.

all i have left is mono decks (vinal), afew records like about 1000+ or so.
a sound to light control box but no lighting rig
and two mono amps (walace custom built valve amp and a august pa amp)(both 1/4 inch mono jack connections).

i supose i could dig out the record collection it's all from the 80's and bring it along with me as im towing the camparse there behind the master van

i might even get on the decks for a short while and bast away at some old tunes :smokin::smokin::smokin:

For £300 we supply 2 stacks. a stack is one sub one mid-high, this is a 4kW system, put a stack either side of the decks basically. plus decks etc. thats a local rate, if we have to travel more than about 20 miles we have to add on additonal cost for fuel etc.

If a promoter was doing a rave in that barn I would stick 6/8 stacks in there and it would bang it out to 500 easy. but you could stick a small system in the corner and 200 people would still have fun.:smokin:

I'm up for helping out, only problem if I drive a van load of speakers I cant drive the R5!!

I have 2 decks and mixer like mentioned, may be on cdjs by then, we would only need a small lighting rig.

Any chance i could play out a bit of liquid D&B or grimey D&B??

Was even thinking of doing a live Didge and Bass set with the infamous Tricky

I've DJ'd D&B for years, peeps have mentioned old skool 93 which i have but happy to play something different
