The fuel in my 5 is over 6 years old so needs draining.

I am assuming the best way is by disconnecting the fuel feed to the carb and draining it into a container. But I have become a bit rusty on the 5 :-( what pipe is the feed to the carb?

Also, to make the fuel pump work I will have to bridge the fuel pump relay. But once again, I can't recall what two connections to bridge??

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :-)

why not top it up with new fuel (£15). take it for a run, then refill once empty?

It has no mot, no tax , no insurance :-(

It's in it's fledgling stages of being returned to it's former glory really.

Do you think just diluting the fuel down with new stuff would be acceptable then? Eg - it wouldn't cause any harm?

fuel feed to carb is the one on the top front of the carbtop, pipe comes from OSF inner wing up to the carb

fuel pump relay is above fusebox, bridge the big red and big white wires ;)

I was going to say, just remove the rubber pipe from the pump and either bridge the relay or just put a live to the pump :)

Thanks for the advice lads. Much appreciated :)

I drained a bit of the tank, popped some new petrol in it. So thanks:agree:
