these cars imo are at a point where by they are well worth spending the £££ on whilst things are still reasonablly priced.

A 2k r5 may look pretty but id put cash on saying there will be plenty of underlying issues.

I've spent about 2500k just on bits for the car , and I still haven't finished the car was rotten when I gt but had it painted cracking on as u do , I always think the same but once she's finished it will be worth while :)

Stick with it! Just think how happy you'll be when it's finished.
Like DJ said, you may find a pretty one for 2 grand, but you never know what's hiding inside really.

Im sorry to say that my head got the better of me and i cancelled my time in the body shop.... I feel sick to my stomach to say this but i think im going to have to cut my losses and find a car that has had some one elses money spent on it... it hurts me to admit this as i have been so excited about owning a mint 5 but i just cannot do it!

So now comes the decision do i sell the decent parts i have or do i just sit on it for a bit? the shell isnt too bad really as i have done all of the wleding it probably was a bit rustier than i wanted really so thats when the cracks started to apear in my faith. to top it off the number plate is F505 AJW the ajw part being my initials that is what made me want it.

I stripped all of the engine and brought all new bearings pistons liners had all the bottom end checked over and balanced had the block cleaned so was waiting for the shell to dissapear before starting the engine build.

What a sad day in my house maybe i should just get a newer car

Cheers the Drainer!!!! lol

I would sit on it for abit mate, can't count the amount of times i've felt like that before mate. Best thing to do is leave it for abit and go back to it.

It sounds like you done most of the hard work already, least with this one you know its all soild now and will be for a long while. It be worse thing for you to buy a mint one then give it a year and you find it needs welding
