My 1st year racing..

Hey guys.
Not been on here much, or touched my renault 5 for a few months as I have been racing a bit. Driving a mk1 golf 8v in Class B of the VAG Trophy. I managed to beat a class A car in the 1st race.
Thought I would share my Videos :)

I still have alot to learn.... missing many apex's and trying to hard in places. But it is great fun.
I have done 5 races now... Won my class 4 times and 2nd once. At Snetterton I was the highest placed car that wasn't running on slicks - and I even beat one in race 1!

All my money and effort goes on the car.... I now dont have a penny to spend. Looking for some financial support for racing next year.... although I am sure I would find it easier if I was racing the Gt turbo :D

Here is the 'hairy' race from brands GP a month or so ago.... I lost out big-time on the first lap, but got it all back in the end.

Its good fun, but it can be very draining and takes up alot of time. Lots of highs and lows.

Yeah, LOTS of mk2's and a couple of very quick mk3's..... I would really like to race in a one-make but they tend to be quite expensive. Think I'll stick with the Mk1 for another year.
I would love to build a Class A car and race at the front with the bespoke race cars, but would need another £3500 or so :crap:

I think my power to weight is quite similar to the GT Turbo cup cars, from following Eugein around Brands Hatch one time.
I really fancied racing the GT Turbo, but found the Golf slotted into a Class quite competitively. I watched some of my Dads GT Turbo racing yesterday and had a real feel for having a go in mine. No time to make it happen though :(
