Recieved loads of bits and gaskets today for putting my engine back together, and am unsure what this part is for

Can anyone shed some light? There is two bags of them, I opened one to count and it had 12 inside...they feel kind of papery

Looking at it on iPhone so hard to tell but it looks like a guide sleeve
For fitting the crank seal

I always thought they were the other liner seal for the smaller engines, granted i've never rebuilt a smaller C series engine or come across them in a C1J engine before.

there was two packets of 12 in the gasket set.
just out of curiosity though, why would there be 12 in each pack then? - 3/6 for each liner or would you need 24 for the crank seal?...
I will get i touch with mike and see what he says :coffee:
paper seals for the liners. marked different colours for different thicknesses. doesn't anyone read haynes manual anymore..... :p
