Not seen a group buy in a while.

Would these be much interest in a group buy of poly flex bushes, im sure we could find a supplier willing to sort us out a discount if ordering a large number. ?

We will get the best deal on full kits. If we can get numbers together I will make a few calls and see what price I can do them inc the p&p.

Thanks

how hard is it to fit these??

djinuk
14-10-2011, 12:18
very easy i beleve..

Basically remove wishbone, use a burner to set fire to the bushes in there, then use a hacksaw you cut out the outer sleeve and drive it out, then pop teh new ones in.

I dont mind putting together a guide if you like.

Matt@CodeRedMotorsports
14-10-2011, 12:22
Might need to weld the sleeves in place, don't forget to measure the bush spacing, otherwise you can get a difference in caster from side to side.

car.crash
14-10-2011, 12:42
Mikes ones don't come with sleeves. The power flex ones do though and it's not a necessity to weld the unless your using it for track.

You're going to need to select harder or softer bushes. Harder being the red 'race'. Soft being the yellow 'sport'.

I fitted race. They are not easy to fit into the subframe. With a Dremel I ground the edges off of the subframe fitting areas (for want of a much better description!) so they (fitted to the wish bones) could be hammered in with a rubber or wooden mallet, or maybe I used the 8lb persuader via a wooden plank off cut. Either way, it took a bit of time and patience.

i've got the full red kit on my 5
the only problem i had was getting the arb brackets back on i did it with the subframe in situ

the red bushes dont compress at all which makes for alot of swearing when fitting

Right, Powerflex as Marc pointed out come with the sleeves and offer many different sizes, where as Superflex only offer the Phase 2. What I need to know is the size and and amount of to get the discount sorted. My online account has been setup so we can get moving. If we get 10 orders we should be looking at a decent discount.

hi mike,

bit of a hi jack but I've talked about this on the boards before but think it might get a few more eyebrows raised here.

seeing as you now have a contact within power flex it might be something you can arrange, rear trailing arm bushes, i was under the impression that power flex would be able to make these if there was enough interest and they had a new bush to copy, which i didn't have access to when i was making enquires

maybe next time you talk to them you could see where they stand on this now and gauge interest from what they can do

I am happy to ask. I don't have a new bush myself for them to copy though.

it may be worth investigating as mine failed it's mot because of perished bushes hence why i looked into it without much luck, ended up with a second hand beam as the cost for new bushes from renault was crazy

maybe if it's a viable option we could get the club to buy a bush for them to copy and they could get the money back selling sets in the shop like the dials/manifolds ?

not 100% sure but if these kit includes the arb bushes ,might be worth having words about the 11 turbo(big steve). pretty sure the brackets/bushes that bolt the arb to the the subframe are different to the 5 gtt, remember having difficulty finding some for my rear subframe(ren 11 also). renault were'nt much help either, was told they stopped making them/and have none left in stock, and cross referenced with another part number, which did'nt fit either:( renault 19 springs to mind:scratch: anyway just my 5 pence worth

I have already asked, there is nothing on the technical development list for the near future. They would only consider it if they would be able to cover cost and make money from it. We are struggling to get ten sets of fronts sorted so I can't see them adding it to there to do list.

Yes there are 2 different sizes, don't quote me on it, but I think one is 19mm and the other is 22mm.... I think.
