Right Guys, as you may know i've recently purchased a Clio with a c1j Conversion already fitted, but heres a little more information

Its a K reg Renault Clio 'Knight & Day' which apparently means its black and white.. cept its mostly black at the moment..

Apparently got G-Max lowering suspension,
Very little interior,
Couple of Gauges
Rotten Sill (like how i drop that one in there)
Standard lights
Crap bumpers
nackered passenger lock
nackered passenger window
nackered fuel lines
Boxes of interior spares
c1j Conversion including;-
Standard mint condition t2 turbocharger
Renault 5 GTT reconditioned gearbox
Renault 5 driveshafts
Renault 5 GTT Front brakes and hubs
Standard Downpipe
Standard intercooler
Stage 1 Dump Valve
Brand new Renault 5 GTT Radiator
Stainless steel exhaust with silencer
battery relocated into boot
OZ Racing wheels

So overall the car isnt all that bad, yeah its a clio but it will have bucket loads of character once im done with it :)

Heres some pictures of it to keep you all entertained..

to

already +10 BHP!

next me and DJ started to dig away a bit more of what was left of the sill..

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/chidley/IMG_1784.jpg

and ended up with what can only be similarised to what looks like something you might do after a curry....

get dave booked in for an intense welding session this weekend mate!. , Also get yourself a can of primer and some black stone chip from halfords ready to paint it back up.

Just a though is it worth getting dave to make the sidey at the same time, thinking simply because it comes out around that area of the sill anyway.

So Dave to .

WELD SILL
WELD GOLF ENGINE MOUNT
WELD LOCK POSSIBLY,
AND MAYBE WELD Exhaust

just thinking lots of bits with one stone, espec if the weather holds out.

may also be worth trying to get down to a scrappy or somewhere first to get any bolts/fixings you need for the alternator, also nip to motormania and get a fan belt ordered as i bet thats gone missing by now, and renault for a fresh oil filter.

Rare.

Daves gonna be at mine for around 10 on saturday, im gonna nip looms saturday morning, maybe meet dave there instead, try get a glass for it, and those bolts if i can find any.. the engine mount wont take long, and should be able to get the clio quite high for dave to weld the sill, which should be quite easy i hope... (bit scared i wont lie)

gotta sort the fuel lines out too, aint even looked at those properly yet :S

gonna strip all the rest of the ****e out of it in the next few days, interior crap, carpets, blah blah blah, maybe make a fibreglass panel for above the gauges too, or just lose a gauge and blank it off..

really need to rid the car of those god awful tints too, and get my wheels 'bored out' ready to go on...

bit of an update...

IT RUNS!!!!

me and DJ went to see a friend yesterday and bought a replacement alternator (wasnt sure the one we were given was a 5 GTT one as they looked completely different) at a good price which worked a treat, and DJ took it upon himself with my consent to blank off most of the breathing system that a lot of you guys tend to do (y)

(hopefully he will upload some pictures later)

i sorted the fuel pipe problems (temporarily), bought fuel, and began stripping the interior parts out to get a look at the floorplan and to ofcourse save weight..

began:

few pics/update on behalf of rare..!

A nice chavy exhaust, ideally this wasnt going to be the choice but it was local/cheap and will be fine for an mot.

and now the welded sill looks tidy enough, could be better but this is only a clio shell so :disagree:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y98/djinuk/IMG_1825.jpg

also the small split in the tank is hopefully now sealed using some leak/fix,

scared you might be right jamie, bitch of a job but having the ramps definately makes it a lot easier.. i've tried some 'Aradyte' glue now, was free so was worth a shot, see how that fairs tomorrow (fingers crossed) this was the leak after anyway..

been a busy boy today too :) got my seats in - there just being retrimmed as the centres have seen better days, and you may or may not liek them as there quite retro, but they were sat in my hosue doing nothing so i figured i'd put them to good use, and there so comfortable and supporting its untrue! im happy with them anyway :)

Harnesses in tomorrow, and test the fuel tank... fingers crossed! fit the air filter, re-do the vacuums with the pipe, maybe weld the Lambda boss into the spare exhaust downpipe which i'll be using when its on the road.. not much left to do now :D

Right, done oil and water change today, changed the front indicaters cus the old ones were really dull (i'll get pics tomorrow), cut the centre bit out the front bumper for when the front mount goes in, and DJ's changed some vacuums for me cus im still learning, also picked a 3rd engine up for him from a nice chap in Derby off here :agree:

Anyway, got a couple questions,

What bolt fits in this? (Top of picture - part of Downpipe)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/chidley/IMG-20111012-01684.jpg

Whats this wire for? comes off alternater loom, think it was part of the original Clio loom but wanna check before chopping it off
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/chidley/IMG-20111012-01685.jpg

And which Vaccum of the Actuator does this go to? (so it doesnt run infinity boost)
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/chidley/IMG-20111012-01681.jpg

Also got the Clocks in the dashboard all wired up, everything works! cept i havnt tried the speedo yet as was getting on and had plans so i'll check that tomorrow :) Also found out my Main Beam doesnt work when my Dipped Beam is on, but does when Side Lights or no lights are on/off, not sure if this is the stalk cus it doesnt click and hold, so gonna get a new stalk for it tomorrow, and hope it's ok, otherwise i might have to have main beam on a button for MOT...
