Hi pedro

Unless you want to go multi plate then you will want a 215mm AP or Helix type center plate with a late type volvo valeo pressure cover.

The plate will be:

215mm, sprung center, 4 paddle, 7.62mm thick

This will work in a valeo cover fine. It will hold a lot more than 250 hp :)

Cleaper alternative might be the 200mm version, same thickness.

Think this is what I have, if you're using your car as a daily I would defo get the longer clutch fork from the Volvo. It's a snappy clutch with the short arm but with the longer arm its nice and soft.;)

Yip, as Scoff says Ditto here, although i used a six plate. Held 260 ft/lb at a ridiculous 2800rpm!! Recently removed it (used as a road car) and it still had plenty life.:agree: Mine was a sprung centre too. just to help with a little road manners.

Thanks you guys for the tips, At moment I am using a 215mm clutch from volvo made in Kevlar and Bronze but it canīt hold the power in 4th and 5th gear, yesteday I ve broken the M59 gearbox, so itīs a good time to change the clutch.
Does Helix sell the kit for B18Ft or I need to ask for another model?? I am asking because I couldīt see it in the list.

Anyone know if engine-dynamics sells any? I was looking in their website and I think the Clio172hp will fit, did anyone try it?

Thanks

I got my plate from techcraft. Part no. 77-5108 HD.
Ģ180 + vat just for the plate. I would use your pressure plate if not too old and bearing.

I ordered a kit off a Clio 172 before from Helix and fitted it to the B18ft flywheel, the Helix cover plate with Organic friction plate.
You have to file the mounting holes out just alittle so the lugs fit through but apart from that its straight fit. Works well too.

You have to be carefull there because the 172 plate is 6.5mm while the volvo is 7.62mm. You might run in to clamping issues, either too much or too little depending on the combination :)

Hi guys one quick question. I'm going to make ceramic clutch plate. So what thickness the ceramic plates need to be. 3.25mm (0.127 inch) or 3.5mm ( 0.137 inch) also how many plates to put on the clutch plate 6 or 8 ?

Thanks

i'm going to put this clutch on my b18ft and it's with 200mm clutch.

I never knew about the differnces in thickness between the 2, i see what you mean though mate. ;)
I should have said i have used the entire clutch kit so i fitted the Helix cover and friction plate so in theory it should be no different to fitting it to either Clio or Volvo engine
