hi there i have a bit of a problem with my chargeing system if i use the car it the day it seems ok but if i use it at nite with lights etc then if you go to start it the battery sounds flat i have rewired the top two wire on the alternator so there ok.
but i read some were if there the wrong way round as they have been converted to push on connectors it wont charge so wich side of the alternator should the yellow wire go?
also i have a volt gauge in the car that reads 13.5 and doesnt change when the lights are on etc so could my alternator be on its way out or are there and other wire i need to check i have also renewed the eaths at the block to bulk head and battery thanx?

sounds like the battery may be on the way out,and not holding charge

do the lights go bright when revving engine and dim when revs lower? or does volt gauge fluctuate when revving?

If your seeing those kinda volts with the engine running then the battery is f**ked

the Voltage is bang on @ 14.x volts when running. Get a drop test done on your battery and see how you get on. You'll probably find that it's that that's goosed. Kwick fit etc should do a drop test

one other thing, once you've replaced the battery, replace the earth from the battery to the body work, yes it might be tight but these cars are 20+ years old now and as any sparky will tell you, wiring under heavy load will brake down over time
