Charge Cooler?

Chaps, need a little advice on these charge coolers. I've always been an intercooler man meself, but the need for more power increases the size of these things and hence, chopping up the front end!!:(

So i'm considering a charge cooler. My engine will be running quite a bit of boost so i need a robust unit capable of decent temps (low 40's) and not cost the earth.

The PWR units are out as they are hiddeously expensive. Can anyone recommend an alternative thats proven decent and not bank breaking? What BHP levels do these roughly cater for?

Would it be worth checking out what the guys with mk1 focus rs run on there cars as i know they still run chargecoolers at 22psi

Not a clue Chris, but certainly no where near the prices on the websites. A rated 500bhp unit for a grand!!:crap:

If there was a cheap unit come up and it did the job i would consider it.;)

No such thing as a cheap charge cooler, if you find a good cheap one pls let me know.
Ive been quoted around £750 for one for my car. Thats the cooler on its own, ive got everything else.

Yeah Stu, it's gash! I think intercooler will be for me. Ok another question, using the standard bumper, whats the max dimesions anyone has fitted an intercooler?

What power are you planning to run? I will try and get the full spec of my set up...

i have a celica all track chargecooler, bought it for $ 55 from ebay.com

it is from a 200 BHP celia, there a more on ebay atm
