with the ka zetec, orange 5 and tungy 5 all done, i've been at a loose end....

i've had this beast for a while, its been sitting in my unit for months now since getting it off TNT ANDY, wasn't sure what to do but a cheap 16v clio came up so i bought it with a mate and i had the running gear and he had the shell.

currently rebuilding the block, have had pistons dished already to make it futureproof

going to get it running n/a initially, then hopefully supercharge it once i get some funds from selling the grey OE one

not sure yet, as i can't seem to find any springs for an 11... got 16v front brakes, gtt rear brake setup (if i can undo the bolts on the rear arm) and probably a temporary coil or two off the front

should have my 15" bbs E30 rims sat so i'll satin black them and pop them on too, wanted steels and wheel trims but these wheels are cheaper! lol

Looking good Mark, with ref to the suspension didn't Adey on his old silver 11t fit GTT shocks to the front?

Mark, project is looking good. Just noted one of the pic's the ISCV is not completed? are you running it to air? I know peeps do it on the n/a car's but as your running boost you will need it completed. Otherwise your going to have a problem as you will have a hole in your boost circuit due to the ISCV, you will need to loop it back in before the TB.

I wonder how well the cold starter injector will work when on boost:eek: you plumbed in and AFR gauge yet? hope your monitoring for det / knock aswell. I know you have lowered comp but standard ECU and standard injector's

i've no idea, but i've got snetterton next friday on a standard ECU and 7psi so should add some extra safety, switch opens the injector so should just flow 4bar fuel pressure through it on boost... i'll report back lol

no AFR yet as its hardwired into the orange 5, will borrow an LM-1 on sat just to check and make sure its roughly right, but can't drive it legally until sat afternoon after the MOT and after i've taxed it

Ah good, I think you should get away with standard timing :)

I don't know if the cold start will provide enough fuel for that 40-50% power increase.

A better budget option would be an MF2 and a pair of injectors a little upstream of the throttle. The cold start isn't going to atomise or supply equal delivery as well as additional injectors would.

the cold start is just a belt and braces until i get it mapped, then i'll get bigger injectors in and the ECU flashed to suit a s/c, and go from there. its only running 7psi so i'm not expecting a rocket

little update, it had to fail mot on sat, but failed on OSR sill corrosion and OSF wheel bearing... not bad for an old shed.

bro has been busy welding, and last night i put on the GTT front struts and hubs complete with clio 16v brakes, and then lowered rear beam :)

pulled the NS bar out with a spanner and a bolt, unbelivable considering its age!

Yeah as Markey says I still own it mate, I lost my license for 12 months and gunna have driving without insurance and TWOC on it when I get it back  No one will insure me on a GTT with that record, being only 20 :( If all goes ahead me and Mark B will be doing a straight swap BUT the 11 is still insurance group 6 so am abit stuck really

insurance will always be a killer with TWOC, group 6 is alot better than 14 and turbo in the name tho lol

soon as markey has worked his magic lemme know 11 is back together now :agree:

Haha good shout Tony, my mrs at the time told me to take her car. She wasnt best pleased when I phoned her and told her i'd written it off though! So much so that she smashed my 5 up with a hammer (drivers window and windscreen & ripped the battery out ) I said I took it without her consent so she didnt get into any trouble :disagree: Needless to say shes not my mrs anymore.
