View Full Version : The National Day 2012

Big Steve - Raider
12-08-2011, 23:09
In response to all the feedback gained through the various surveys (http://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?t=23297). I am pleased to announce that the National Day 2012 has been CONFIRMED!

http://www.williamsclio.co.uk/forum/images/smiles/groupwave2.gif (javascript:emoticon(':groupwave:'))

It will be at BLYTON PARK on Saturday 28th July 2012!!

Next years event is going to be THE BIG ONE given that it's the 10 Year Anniversary of the RTOC's first National Day.

It is planned to make the event appeal to every club member and not just market it as another Track Day! These plans are still in a state of flux so please feel free to add any (sensible) suggestions to this thread to make sure it's the most succesful day yet!

In the mean time, make sure you put the date in your diary!! ;)

absolute brilliant news steve :)

i defo think we need a few stores there eg car cleaning products etc etc, an organised autojumble (id be prepared to run this), mobile rolling road and some activities for the kids that attend.

on another note iv seen that there is a few track days coming up at blyton this year and wondered if a few fellow members fancied going to check the place out?

This is one of the reasons we wanted to get it booked sooner rather than later Andy. We can now set about asking various companies if they'd like to attend. It comes across a lot more professional if we give them a date thats 12 months down the line rather than 6 or 7.

We can now also give our European colleagues the date so they can plan their trip over. We are really hoping this is a BIG success with it being the 10th birthday of the day.

That has to be the cheapest excuse in the UK! :cooter:

It's a year away. More than enough time to save up a couple of hundred ££

Good job by getting somewhere booked up nice and early. It'll be good to try a new venue as well. Lets just hope the day's as big as it could potentially be

£175 / £1.36(per litre of fuel) = 128.67 Litres of fuel

128.67 litres is 28.30 Gallons

500 / 28.30 Gallons = 17.66 mpg?! :eek::eek::eek:

Does your car only have 3 gears or is the fuelling a tad off?? :scared:

Good work guys  Blyton will make a great venue for our ND, and hopefully I'll be sorting a pre-ND taster in the shape of a trackday there before this year is out :agree:

Sure, the current price of fuel doesn't help matters, but as Bill rightly said, there's the best part of a year to save up for the ND weekend, so there shouldn't be any excuses really, and if the Euro guys can put the effort in, that in itself should warrant a mega turn-out from the UK rtoc'ers.

500 miles-£175 - Some fuelling issues there! :D

i would say i get around 20mpg from the car fueling is a little rich. On the flip side of that it never leans out at high boost and i havent had any problems with the engine in the four years since i built it.I know in my hart it runs a little rich but it all seems to work fine.

Anyway i was only saying it looks like i will not be able to make next year.I did not mean to offend anyone. i will now return to under my stone:laugh:

It's easy enough to find. After you turn off the main trunk road (A159), onto the B1205, go past the row of houses, then there's pretty much nothing else along the road, until you get to the entrance gates on the left, with a large Blyton Park test circuit (or something like that) banner on show.

Phone yourself up & have a word, Ewok :dearme:

The last trackday there, Jaffa was having enough fun in his M3, as was Alex in his, as was moi in the Jap taxi.

Fair enough, it's not a power track/there aren't long straights, therefore you probably won't hit top gear, but it's still a good technical track for sure, and although it might be more suited towards GTT's, Clio's & the such like, you'll still have fun driving your 'bigger' car there, trust :agree:
