First post!

Hey Mart if you're reading this - if not, please could you let Mart know that I'm trying to speak to him regarding Andy Cutler(K-Tec/Omex/GDI)? I know that you have had dealings with him that were not particularly positive. I am worried that my fella has been taken advantage of and I would like to know what your experience was with him.

My fella has a Jap import car and Andy has now had his car for a year and a half! Lots of promises that car would be completed by a certain date and then the car never materialises.... Lots of things about this don't add up and I would appreciate it if anyone has had any similar experiences.

Cheers,
Boo

Mart is on quite regular so i'm sure he will see this. Doesn't Andy Cutler work for Ktec full time?? Anyway, having a car for 1.5 years is a disgrace! :crap:

Thanks for replying - Andy is working at K-Tec and doing my fella's car up at same time - I understand that this would take longer than it normal, but a year and a half is taking advantage. Anyone else with any experience with Andy C - positive or negative? I'm not here to ruin reputations - just want some advice and info from people really on how best to move forward?

Cheers,
Boo

he charged my mate 2k to finish off a 172 engined 16v that we did 90% of the work on, then told him not to mention how much his bill was on cliosport......

Not sure what advice I can offer, as the shananigans involving Cutler & myself happened the best part of 14 years or so ago, and not much came from that anyway.

How did you hear about said dealings?

It's long since been water under the bridge, but the only advice I can offer is to find his address & pay him a visit (or at K-tec) & speak to him face to face. As I've always proclaimed, people react differently (read usually for the better) once they know that you know where they live/work...

Hi Mart,
Thanks for the advice and info - I saw a reference to your dealings from a thread that you posted on here a while back. Thanks to the other posters who replied too!

First post!

here's the low down on my recent project mentioned.

Mr A.C of KTEC left my vehicle in a confusing condition. some work on it is excellent, and some shocking. unfortunately, the **** stands out more than the good. My intercooler was hanging off, my rotrex radiator practically fell off, injectors plus other items stuck in fuel rail with sikaflex, ecu looms cut up and left, looms in bay cut up and left bare, broke my roof, bad spray job with and feeling £15,000 lighter from my 18 months of waiting by the phone wondering if he will ever get back to me ordeal.

i have now found another garage, eurospec2000 who are helping me get it sorted...

(i also know he's in court next few weeks for blowing up a lads renault on his dyno a year or so ago)

just to let you guys know,

i am now on a rebuild of my engine since andy C and the rest of the k-tec racing monkeys and associates robbed me.

4th cylinder was ruined, so badly honed no wonder it was breathing terribly.

my rotrex bracket he made, has broke, as well as 100% of my 15k project he took on.

makes me sick.

complete waste of time and money using k-tech.

i hope no nobody else gets ripped quite as badly as i have..

Why take a Jap car to a Renault specialist in the first place ?

Sorry to hear you got done over ,glad your getting it sorted at last.

Never had a problem with k-tec myself always seemed liked they knew what they were doing on my 5

You'd be happy with those kind of faults on your Renault but not on a jap car? It's not a case of the guy speacilising in one make or not it's a case the guys work is piss poor and potentially dangerous

My word! They sound like a real bunch of monkeys!

15K is absolutly shocking, obviously I have no idea exactly what you had done or were having done but for that kind of cash I could do a full EFI conversion as well as a full body restoration and paint job, new lump, pretty much new everything and probably still have change for a night on the piss and some saucy underwear for the mrs:eek:

Sounds like your not going to see any of it back and will probably end up paying more to get it finished properly.

There is a moral to this story and that's either learn and do it yourself or be very very carefull when picking someone to do the work for you.

Hope you finally get it finished/sorted properly

No surprise to see some things never change... :crap: :dearme:

some things do, take for example, k-tec, a few years back they'd be all over this thread denying all responsibility for said project and blowing their own trumpet at how professional they are and have x amount of people who have nothing but good things to say about them

rtoc obviously doesn't mean anything to them now it's a limited market and they've moved on to the fresh meat supplied by the Renault sports

Mart

Yep, fresh meat = easy money.

To be fair, Kirky isn't (wasn't) a bad bloke. Just a shame he's had questionable grease monkeys working for him over the years.

The limited market comment is true, but maybe it's also to do with the fact that the likes of K-tec, GT Tuning, GDI, TurboPacs etc received flack a-plenty on here (and justifiably so in most, if not all, cases), hence the reason why they left the good ship rtoc. No loss there though.

No point stirring up the past further, and anyway, I think it's fair to say we as a club have 'survived' nicely, and also moved the tuning game on, without any involvement from the aforementioned.

 i would expect thats a global figure for all the bracket work required on the conversion rather than 1 bracket but to be fair i would be expecting some seriously nice cnc machined billet items for that sort of wedge
