View Full Version : rear brake pipe securing clips
Its getting to that time again...MOT time and last time I had a car fail on missing clips on the rear brake pipes

The bit where the flexi meets the pipe there should be a clip to keep it secure. It's passed a few MOT's without but got nabbed last time. What do people use any other solution other than o.e suff?? A workaround to pass MOT?
Cheers Rob
the brackets will clean up with a wire brush and some paint
the ferrules on the brake hoses are proper iffy tho, personally i wouldn't pass them if i was testing it
can see the other side tho so worth checking the brake pipe ends arent rusted away or its time for new brake lines aswell
can either go new rubber hoses or braided hoses
I don't think that is the question mate. He is after the little metal clips that hold the flexipipes into the bracket on the rear beam. They are sort of top hat section wih a hole in them, maybe 0.8mm - 1mm thick.

If you get braided brake lines, you normally do away with the clips anyway.
you can buy them from renault, iirc Clee bought some not long ago??
I see Eurocarparts do the rear flexi also but like Ashy says it's the securing clips that stop the brake pipe and the flexi wobbling where they meet at the bracket.
So buying new flexi's (unless maybe braided) still wont solve the problem I don't think.
