PFC Featured RTOC RR Day @ WGT in Cheshire 22nd October [Archive]

Hi everyone iv been in contact with mark dow and david corfield at performance french cars over the last week or so with regards to us lot putting on an RTOC dyno day and i got a real positive reaction from him. They are really up for featuring the club in the mag just as long as we get a decent turnout, which i should not think is a problem with a club this size.

the venue will be WGT Auto Developments in Middlewich, Cheshire iv held 2 days here and any members who have attended will tell you what a great venue and hosts they are.

The confirmed date is sat october 22nd start time of 8.30am.

Price is £40 for 3-4 runs with colour printouts of flywheel and wheel horsepower/torque, can also ask for the fuelling prinout if required :)

As always dave,pip and the gang will put us tea,coffee and biscuits on along with soup and bread and a few other things. There is also a big pub (the salt cellar) at the end of the road that i thought we could all go to after the event to get some dinner and a much needed pint:laugh:

hope you guys are interested in this and it would be great see a few of our cars in pfc plus some publicity for the club :)

right people im 99% done on the deal to get pfc feature this event, just finalising a few things with david from pfc.

the proposed date for this is saturday october 22nd how does this appeal to you all?

this day is not only about the people running there cars we would like to get as much variation as possible from concours to track toys to one off modded cars.

would love to see a few clios,meganes, 21 turbos etc there as well as we are looking to be getting a pretty big feature for this

matt what clio is it you will be in mate ? iv added you to the list fella :)

just a note we will as always need a £100 deposit for the guys at wgt same thing again 10 deposits of £10 each are fine, this then guarantees you to be in the 1st 10 runners on the day. Will start collecting deposits around mid august time so i can drop off to them end of aug or early sept.

I run a kent rt150 cam and the ports have been enlarged in the head to match gasket size. I do have a ctm head in the loft ... would love to try to fit this in time .... but dont know if i want to mess with car at moment

give us a shout blunty when you and ste go down mate .. would love to attend if i could and play around with the ignition timing as running about 3 to 4 degree retard at mo.

just giving you guys a quick heads up im going start taking deposits for this as of fri 19th august.
as always we need deposit of £100 so 10 people of £10 each (i will be 1 of the 10 as normal) this then ensures that 10 people to be first on the dyno and also obviously secures us the venue for the day.

I think my t28 is scrap mate, the exhaust impeller or the shaft has snapped?! haven't inspected the damage yet. its a cash flow problem that's stopping me from buying a new one, but never say never it might happen ;)

was up at wgt yesterday gave them the potential list and deposit etc, just so you guys know the pub we will be going is called the salt cellar and its just by the roundabout that you turn onto midpoint business park, got a good size car park and i seen its 2 for 1 as well :laugh:
also just to note be careful when driving onto the business park and especially turning right down to wgt as on that corner there is a police station so bear that in mind ;)

I didn't see you, I was on the dyno from 11 till gone 3 mapping and trying to sort boost control in mine. Gave up after 3 hours of messing with solenoids bleeds and restrictors. It's just almost impossible to control 10psi springs at high boost it seems. I thought I had it sussed with some clever solenoid piping. It turned out I wasn't as clever as I thought !! Saturday night special out the window :rolleyes:

Struggling to get my car ready for this :sad2: Need to fit an oil cooler, re-fit the radiator, top up/bleed coolant system and drill the 2nd stange out a bit to see if I can get it to fuel a bit better. Not a lot of work, it's just finding the time.

check clutch cable and ratchet. Could be a nice simple fix :D, gotta live in hope :D

Its definitely eaten all the syncros and most of the gears and I was expecting the diff to give way first lol going to car transplants to see if they have a 172 gearbox with speedo drive

thats good to hear andy this is one of the best ways to meet people as we are all in one area, iv met more people in the previous 2 days iv put on than i have at other events.

real good bunch of people on here and more than helpful :).

just to note guys pfc are sending me a form over that ill make 20 copies of, its just to take your details car spec etc etc so on arrival i shall get you to sign the wgt disclaimer then fill the pfc form out :).
Im also getting 2 printouts of every run done 1 for us and 1 for pfc, david corfield (pfc editor) will be with us around 10.30am so ill be getting pics of each car that goes on to forward to him then obviously when he arrives he will take over.

man what a night, seems im destined not to go..

Rares clio failed mot... then his top mount shot thru the boot on the bmw tonight, so then we jumped in my mx5 which ate ht lead....

have no fear though , ill still be there!!!

I've had a day from hell from my oil cooler plate bolt snapping and pumping 5 ltrs of millers oil ever where to stripping 2 bolts in the top end checking the cams and my bloody actuator only holding 10 psi ahhhh roll on the morning when I can get it back together so might be late like 10ish

Great to see a couple of new yorkshire members frano and andyturbo and all the usual suspects, pity a we couldnt get a few more members to come to these great events. Free coffee, tea, soup, cakes and biscuits and a 2 for 1 pub at the end of the road what more can you ask for!

What a top day and a MASSIVE thankyou goes to Blunty for arranging it and putting all the hard work in to it to make it a success. It really is one of the best events of the year. The venue and people there are spot on and they even provide free tea, coffee, soup, biscuits, the full hit!

It was great to see everyone and some new faces and a big welcome to the club to Andy and his lady! Was lovely to meet you both.

Cheers lomo! Ur a top man!. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and defo thanks to blunty for such a great event, wish we cud have stayed longer. Was great to meet my local rep Robbo aswell and thanks for offering to come look at 5s with me fella, I'll prob take u up on that lol, defo Proud to be a member too, just need to get a nice 5 now and fly the flag!.
