earlier tonight I was pulling into my parents drive, To get in beside the other car it's a really tight left turn on a slight incline. Once I had the wheel on full lock I felt a "clunk"

now I have some major movement in the steering wheel - up, down, left right!
does this sound like nackared steering column bush?

steering itself from left to right was fine for the half mile crawl home :sad2:

Theres a nut under the steering colum plastics that allows you to move the wheel in and out (mainly in a crash) worth checkibg that this is nice and tight.

I will have a quick look for that, cheers., but there is no play in/out only sideways, up/down. I have an hour to play with the 5 before we leave for holiday so I best get cracking :D

back from holiday last night to find out that our transport to T in the park is a no-goer:cry:...... another option is to use the 5.

It is a 260 mile round trip. so With the Steering colum bushes nackared would this be a safe option??

I have not driven the 5 since the play began in the steering wheel, so how long have ppl used/driven their 5 with this issue...

I drove mine thousands of miles and they didn't really get much worse. Can you not pick up a couple of bushes and get it sorted before the trip using the article I wrote? It doesn't take that long to do..... :)
