doing a full rebuild on my c1j with ..new forge piston,steel liners,lighten crank and fly wheel,285 cam piper vale spring and gear wheel..
would std valve stills be ok or should they be uprated:scratch:

Dont fit any valve stem oil seals at all...:)

If your valve guides are in good condition you'll probably be ok with out them.

My engine builder used vauxhall xe stem seals I think. They are rubber rather than the plastic so hopfully will not crack at high RPM.

Seriously, why waste your money fitting a set? they break up at high rpm, I & other members have ran without them for years with no probs.

im starting to think this way to...me and the M dicked about for a while fitting new ones an recently when i had head off again there either not there on two valve guides or broke up or....slid up....
:disagree: for the valve seals here...

None of my race and road cars had them, none of our cup cars race with them......never had a problem without them being fitted.
