No point getting track slicks as they are too hard, either need drag tyres or maybe some R888 in soft compound running low tyre pressures 185 or 205/60 I think in 13"

Unless your car is top spec & your after beating record times etc, i really wouldnt bother with slicks for pod...

They cost a fortune new....if you see a member selling them cheap then why not give them ago...

Road tyres are good for a low 12s....

I was gonna say a good set of drag slicks warmed up must be worth as much as another 50bhp! i'd say they are MEGA important to get a good time!:agree:

Depends on the road tyre, but yeah, propper drag slicks dropped me into the 12's right away. I had Micky T's on mine but they were 14" & cost me £320 :crap:
I know alot are using M&H on 13" rims but I think they had to be banded due to the width.

Low 12's on road tyres  you need to be extremely good at launching or have lots of power to do that! My yoko a048's spin as much as the average normal tyre so save your money in that respect.

I use m&h racemaster drag radials 22x8x13 on banded gtt spare steel wheels....excellent for the strip, i can sidestep the clutch at 7500rpm & no wheelspin. Its all about a decent 60ft time ;)

Downside is they are not cheap though when you tally up the cost of tyres and rims.
