Just wondering what options people have gone for on the intercooler side for a f7p? I know most on here have been put into a renault 5 gt turbo but mine is will be in a mk1 clio.

I don`t mind chopping the cross member about to get it to fit but really want to retain the original bumper which I can trim alot off from inside anyway. I have been looking at the 2 options below with regards to inlet and outlets. Just wondering what peoples think on the best one to go for!

Think peeps have tended to go with chargecooler for pure ease of pipe run, I know 5teveL has retained his front mount intercooler with not a much bigger run than he had with the c1J in situ and turbo ted runs a twin pas style which is really short pipe run(scoff's old intercooler).

I will be looking to go the same route in the future but for now am sticking with the chargecooler I have got.

Out of the 2 you have linked I would go with the bigger core:agree:

looking at this on os8472 f7 engine build, and i will be honest, there really is not a lot of room to play around with , unless you start cutting the slam panel:(

my money would be on pwr chargecooler , if you can find one for the right money, or failing that pace type unit can be had for 100-150 notes on the bay:)

just my 5 pence worth:ashamed:

I just sold my pace charge cooler as it was to much in the way as I am going custom manifold with external wastegate and bigger turbo. Only option really is to run a intercooler. Cutting the front of the car does not bother me one bit really as I know I can easily get it sorted:)

I was thinking of going garrett gt3071r (.63 housing) or garrett gt3076r (.63 housing) I really want decent power from the car but dont want to be waiting years for it to spoll. Can anyone think of a turbo that may suit better?

Depends what you really want, fast drivable car or pub figures Rich, I was looking at the GT2871R myself or a custom made unit from CR turbos, but then my ultimate goal is 300-350bhp, yours sounds a bit more :smokin:

Handy may know more.

Steve to be honest I have a budget of around 1k for my new turbo. Custom made is prob the only way to suit what I want for the external wastegate and I have never changed from t25 ot t28 turbos really so this is why I really need the help.

Any I going out of line now by saying could I introduce a bit of mild anti lag system as the new ecu will allow me to do this anyway to help with turbo spool
