Im running the cup mod and have a bleed valve, Its got 3 nipples i know it goes between the actulator and carb but where is the 3rd nipple connected?? i dont have an in-car adjuster so do i just blank it off?? also where do i start from with regards to the bolt adjuster?? do i start with it all the way out then turn it inwards?? also how can i tell what boost ive set?? Ive got a boost gauge fitted so can i just take it from that? Im looking to run 14 psi on the standard t2.

Cheers.

if this is the one with turbo writen on the top fit as following

Both outer ports go from boost source and to turbo it doesnt matter what way around they go.
Middle port, now most vent to air.

But since there is a risk of mixed fuel and air going though it as your running cup mod and being near a hot turbo/manifold, fit a long pipe and route it down the front of the engine and it'll be much more safer :)

To adjust it you wind the bleed valve out to increase boost and in to decrease boost

if its not got turbo writen on it then the above might not be the same

Its the CGB motorsport lockable brass type.

It's a bleed valve get rid of it and fit a manual boost controller instead.

Not sure if that works like a dawes device/grainger valve which is what you want, well it's what i'd recommend and it is what I intend to use on my 5 and c20let.

Some info here

and more

I plan on buying 'proper' grainger valves from the states
http://www.3barracing.com/products.htm
the only place I could find that stocked them in the UK no longer do so.

They are some cheaper ebay alternatives though,

Any ball and spring controller will be fine

But there isn't a big problem with bleed valves on these as long as you plumb the bleed valve into a carb lobster port and not the aei feed.
As bleeding off the aei boost reference would be very bad as the aei would read less boost and cause it to advance the timing, so add the more boost and weak mixtures and you have a nice cocktail for melting stuff :)

same as what i posted for the 3 port one but ignore the 3rd port :)

Go for the ball and spring type manual boost controllers (dawes device) and avoid bleed valves period, that includes the one on CGB.

With a bleed valve there is more potential for boost spikes and thus a failure in one way or another.

ball and spring controllers spike aswell tho  i'm not talking a few pulls on a dyno, i'm talking full blown all out driving with fast gear changes, so your not gaining much difference other than price and the ball and spring might make the turbo come in a bit quicker :)

tbh a t2 running that low a boost anything will be fine, hell you could even adjust the actuator rod to get the extra boost,
Just make sure the car is fueling is right for the boost and that its not detting oh and use the best fuel you can find tesco 99 or v power
