The missus and I are looking at going to Cuba this January but we don't know which part of Cuba is the best to go to for entertainment, night life etc... Has anyone ever been to Cuba before, if so, where did you go and what was your view on it?

Wigadi wigadi wigadi wap!

Went to Cuba this year for my honeymoon.

We had a twin centre holiday between an all-inclusive on the coast;

The hotel was awesome.... no 2 ways about it... Adults only, ultra-all inclusive (JD included at bar etc), but quite pricey (and worth it).

And the other hotel was in Havana,

Undoubtably had the best facilities of any hotel in cuba, we visited a few like the Hotel Nacional, which was pretty but the was a bit run down. http://www.hotelnacionaldecuba.com/en/home.asp

If i could have changed anything about the whole holiday it would be the flights, we just went with the cheapest (Cubana), they are complete crap. Definately go for the Virgin flights.
If you have any specific questions, let me know. :)

The journey there is one of my main concerns, there's nothing worse than being on a cramped, poor service flight for 6+ hours! Did you book your holiday all in one go, like hotel, flights, transfers etc... or did you book each one separately?

The places that I have seen to be the cheapest so far are Cayo Coco and Holguin, both look stunning but too far from anywhere interesting, like Havana, and they literally have no night life at all! I have heard good things about Varadero, and it's close to a lot of places, it just seems to be the pricier place to go out of most of them, but I guess the old saying goes, 'You get what you paid for'.

Well you either take the decision to go Varadero and do the planned excursions from your hotel to Havana, or you do what i did and do a twin centre holiday. I don't think it matters which area you stay in as long as it has its own private beach and has a few stars to its name.

You gotta go see Havana, we had 3 days and 3 nights there, and we weren't short of anything to do. We literally ran out of time trying to see all the stuff we wanted to see.

The packages on the website aren't set in stone, you can chop and change things around, they are actually quite helpful.... Remember you gotta upgrade your flights to Virgin, i'd rather eat my own testicles than fly with Cubana again.
