Got an insurance quote for £90 with Sureterm (anyone heard of them?), only thing is its got a £600 excess  they say its down to my age :crap: or got Footman James for £150. Im not aiming at destroying the car or even damaging it but £600 is a bit much really just incase anything does happen.

I'd bite their hands off! Just make sure you don't stack it!

I'd be a bit wary of a company I didn't know anything about - have you found anything on Google?

Just having a read and think its a dont stack it, dont make any changes to the policy or cancel it early, other than that, £90 for a piece of paper will be fine. Still thinking might be worth just the extra £60 just for the peace of mind though.

Yeah personally, I'd rather pay the extra just to feel better about it

It seems all the problems stem from cancelling early.
If your 5 is a long term car and you have no intention of cancelling early I can't see the problem with them.
After all a classic policy with 5000 miles a year for £85. £100 excess. Can't really be bad.

The excess was £600 for the car. And the problems dont just start with cancelling, more of changing any info on the car or even trying to send them documents like a guaranteed value they keep loosing everyones mail or denying they ever got it in the first place.

Oh I see.

My car has had no modifications and that is the way it will remain. £85 notes for a insurance document is still good.

I see how making changes to the policy has hiked the price up.

i dont think there is many 5's out there that would get repaired in the event of a smash to be fair, most are written off as uneconomical, or lack of parts....

if my orange car gets damaged, providing i can walk away i'd be breaking whats left and would probably get double any possible payout
