Sad Sad day for me, but I need to sell the car I always hoped to hang onto.
It is what I always wanted. My own cup car - and not my dads
AND ITS A LOVELY PHASE 1...And cooler in LHD!
I have the paperwork to register it in the Uk - an easy proceedure to get it on the road.

Have a look at my Thread here:
http://www.rtoc.org/boards/showthread.php?p=217656#post217656

Offers of £1500 would take it as it is - with 5 immaculate refurbed coupe wheel and 4 slicks. This car is very very good, but needs a headgasket and front subframe. The engine/turbo run very well indeed.

If it doesnt sell as it is for that, I will get my Dad to do the headgasket and I'll make it into a very tidy car - and sell it for £3000++ It has the potential to be one of the best - get it cheap if you can do the work yourself....
Call me if you are genuinely interested - 07779 063 087
Thanks
Sam

Thanks pal. After taking it for a spin and doing a few brief burn-outs, I really didnt want to sell. But needs-must.
I could make good money breaking it, but dont have the time:
...coupe engine mounts, Safety Devices cage, engine/gearbox, ph1 bits, bilsteins, strut brace, momo wheel, cup wheels, devil exhaust, extra boost guages, rust free shell (albeit LHD), ph1 door cards..... etc etc
- In fact, I would say there are easily £2000 worth of bits there alone.

Sam, you got any more pics of the engine bay / inside?

Hey, Just had to go to work in London until thursday, so will get some pictures for you then, sorry Ashy.
Viewings highly recommended at the end of the week or weekend. We can run the car around private land to show how well it runs. CM17 9HX

I will be putting on a phase 1 grill and bumper - although the bumper will be black. For extra, I can colour match it.

The coupe wheels are AS NEW.

I will be cleaning and photographing the car tomorrow and will put an advert on Pistonheads etc.
The first to see will buy it.
£1500 is the absolute minimum.... it will be listed for more on the future as I may get an MOT and do some other work on it.

It can be stored here for free for up to 6 weeks, but the car will have to be paid for in full.
Im away again at the weekend. So viewings ideal on Friday morning or the end of next week.
Thanks
Sam :)

The car still has the same bonnet and indicator from the knock on the front left, so you can see it wasnt too bad.

I am trying to sell on the club, as you guys know these cars well, which will make the sale easier/quicker. I believe it will sell for more on the open market so please be quick.

It will be supplied with very good front and rear phase 1 door cards, the seat that came out, and a spare mint coupe wheel. It will come with the white bumper and a phase 1 black bumper that will need a bit of work and painting white.
For an extra £120 I will fit an old but usable bucket seat for the driver as the one that came out is not ideal. I will also include a set of good harnesses.

Please call me if you have any questions.
Thanks

Surprised not to have any interest from you guys in the club. I'm going to have to sell the car I built when I was younger instead....

Lots of potential on the strip with this though, although it needs a big engine :D
1972 NO TAX, SD cage, Koni adjustables, Rebuilt rare GT longer ratio gearbox... 1.3 engine.
£3300.

Thanks guys.
I cant let it go for less than £1500 as I would rather keep it and sell the beetle. Although thats a heart wrench after spending 5 year building it and travelling around europe in it.

I'll eventually get it on the road and fit an interior/standard exhaust. It will have to go back in the shed until I have time though. Ill bring it to Mallory next year! :ashamed:

its a shame to sell both mate. shame you cant find a way to keep the pair. if i could honestly front the cash for the 5 i would be picking it up tomorrow. its a real clean phase one with great history behind it. good luck with a sale mate :D both cars are nice, a credit to you.

Now Sold

Andy bought it (not sure of his forum name) and is going to get it back on track as original - German cup style I think.
He has pretty much taken all our Coupe spares too.

Somebody just needs to spare one of their 'Coupe' badges for him ;)

I would buy it back next week if I could...... One day!

This car finally made it to Germany (where it belongs really) - after Bod, it passed though owners in France and then Belgium!
The German owner appears to be a R5 collector, and found me online. He sent me an email asking if it was the same car.

I'll ask him to post some photographs and things :agree:

Please do.

I love see cars abroad, especially if they're being used as intended :smokin:
