Hi,

I'm due to go to the Nurburgring in early June and have just had a thought, would an oil cooler be an essential bit of kit to have?

If the car is working fine there is no reason for it to need one tbh.

As with everything having extra cooing for the oil that is seperate from the coolant rad job will of course help but depends on soo many other things - spec your running, are you going to track it all day etc etc etc

Prob money better spent giving it a good service before going it required :agree:

no not essential imo aslong as everything is working fine....i doubt youl be doing lap after lap after lap. I did two back to back laps in the 5lag last year with not hot problems :) just give the car a chance to cool after each lap :)

If it's just a one-off then I wouldn't bother, but if you intend to track the car a lot then I'd certainly consider one. In fact I've just ordered one myself. My oil temp gets to around 120c with the current OE radiator/oil cooler set up which is pretty toasty! :)

Wouldnt panic too much about having an oil cooler, just use decent oil and you will be fine.

The 5lag got about 5 mins cooldown between laps didnt it Kris, no probs ;)

You want to be a bit careful going out lap after lap. But one lap at a time will most likely be fine.
