warm it up on idle on the first day then the next day when cold retourque the head and re check the valve clearences as well as change the oil and filter.... then take it out and gun it to enjoy good compression ..................:) simple.. engines are not made of glass or china....

The above can be correct but it does depend on boost level.
I will be running mine at 2k+rpm for 20 minuits to bed the cam in then leaving it to cool overnight then re-touq the headbolts and do the valve clearances and change the oil and filter.
I plan to do around 400 miles with no boost, not because i'm worried about my engine but because i don't want any swarf killing my turbo bearings, so i'm going to blank off an old exhaust housing and do something (not quite sure yet:ashamed:) with the oil feed and just bridge the water feeds. I will be using some cheap mineral oil and be changing it before i give it some boost.
Then i will be putting at least 1.5 bar through it:D we will see what happens:scared:
There are many differant views on this, some people take it slowly at first to try and get some longevity from the lump others give it death from day one.
Hi thanks for info so far I have run the engine up to temp let it cool down did the valve clearances did a general check on pipes and levels then took it out for a done about 25 miles at 2.5 thou revs and no boost yet .I was going to run it in at 500 miles at no more than 3 k revs it has .got a standard turbo on to run it in then a t25 hybrid turbo once it's all ok and the oil changed then put it on and see how it goes.

Death from day one! If it breaks on day one, then it hasnt been put together correctly!

:agree: after oil has been changed and head re-torqued(if you do) get it warm then rag the tits off it. drive it how you intend to dont let it think its going to get an easy life then rag it it wont like it:D
Once its warmed up then you can go out give it a run around the block come home recheck for leaks etc.
Then just stick to B roads avoid motorways,A roads or long constant speed driving and have fun, dont need to fanny about with these things.
I was fannying about in mine to start with but then i got angry as it was still smoking after 60miles..... needless to say 5 miles of abuise its stopped smoking :wasntme:
change the oil as often as you can afford too, done mine at 30miles + new filter then just oil changes at 100, 150, 200 and coming up to the 250 mile change now
:)
