View Full Version : Sump Plug
I cant get mine to seal.
I have replaced the washer several times and done it up at various tighteness. The threads seem ok as i have no problem tightening/untightening the plug.
Is there anything i can use to seal it up? Would threadlock/silicone sealant/araldite work?
Is there a torque setting for the sump plug?
The sump plug washer that has a rubber insert, which way does it fit on the car?
How can i stop it from leaking?

You don't want to use the washer with the crappy rubber insert you want to use a copper washer. Sump plug is normally case of doing it hand toght if it leaks a bit tighten it a tad more.

I assume you mean a solid copper washer, as the ones i have with the insert are also made of copper?

With all the sump plugs I have had a copper washer that when tightened it squishes down
