Last time I checked it was 750rpm to 950rpm

pre cat max idle speed is either 1200 or 1500rpm, just asked the mot tester :agree:

Is that MOT data or Hayneso

it will be checked at idle, no need to rev it up unless its asked by the emissions machine routine to rev up to "clear" before returning to idle and checked
