I am rebuilding my car and i am at the point now where the engie is getting done . I am trying to make my mind up about what brand of silicone hoses to get . Is there any difference between samco and sfs apart from the price. Also are there any other companys out ther that do them but wont ask for me to get a mortage to purchace a full kit. any help on this would be great.

I've had a few different types over the years Matt, and they have all been fine. Can't say I've noticed any different qualities between them all.

Go for whatever fits the pocket mate.

while on the subject of hoses..
would it work out cheaper to buy genuine renault replacements over silicone jobbies.?

I believe not. Don't quote me on that though :)

i use sfs but have always thought they were a little below par fitting wise always wondered if the samco would have been any better

I have always used Samco's without any problem. Not sure what the price difference is as purchased before SFS were around i think?

i've always used samco. got a full set to go on the beast when the rebuild's done.

i bought a set of SFS hoses for my golf GTi about six months ago, i had a problem with them, sent them photo's they said they'd send me a new set after admitting they were faulty, but they never picked them back up, so i sold them on.....

SAMCO all the way for me! :)

I have a set of both sfs and samco boost hoses, have used both and to be honest you can't really tell them apart except for the logos.

SFS or Samco are all about the same to me... Old Samco's discoloured a lot, but they don't have that problem anymore.

As for colour, why not do purple, as you've got a purple car... ;)

was thinking more blue or orange as it has a slight tint of bronze in the finish when its in the sun . saying that when is it ever sunny in this country

Blue's quite a common colour for the hoses.... (colour wouldn't matter to me, on my car) but looking at the paint job on your one, i'm guessing you'd want something a bit special :p

im going orange, have already fitted the carb pipes, i wont be buying a car kit as my hoses will be routed by myself so ill be buying straights bends etc. im going with sfs. the reason being you cant buy direct from samco.

seems cheaper that they used to be (well from the tuners any way).... is that all the hoses? Remember you'll need 4mm and 6mm vacuum tubing as well.

i asked them as i will be looking to buy a complete set do they do a discount as they only list smaller sets on their website. He said for the complete set its 600 quid all minus afew pence but i guess this is without vacuum tubing
