Please help me. I have removed the accelerator cable from my 1990 5 GT turbo as it did not belong to the car. I have a replacement but I'm totally stuck as to exact placement. I can't see where the cylindrical part attaches to the car. How does the cable get round or past the servo?
I've had enough of the car tonight.

the cable goes under the servo, and the best way to do that is thread a stong piece of nylon cord through hole from inside the car, attach it to end of new throttle cable, apply some washin up liquid or small amount of grease to the cable bung, this will aid it into the locator hole easier.

rest is basically pretty obvious. :)

some info from the search function at top.....

Dont forget there are two different accel cable arrangements / lengths on the GTT ;)

Thanks for that. I think I may have the wrong size cable as it appears to be too short.
More investigation needed me thinks. :sad2:

Hi sorry for the bump-

I have the cgb universal cable which comes with rubber bulkhead grommets- does one of these replace the sprung one which is already in place?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what the CGB kit includes, probably just the generic kit thats been the only one available for years now. I replaced mine years ago so can't fully remember, I don't recall there being a spring in the bulkhead area though, just some sort of bung which the cable feeds through, then up under the servo looping round to the carb. You can access via then wheels arch once the small liner has been removed.

i bought a cgb one for the f7r and it melted the plastic all together so i used a bicycle brake cable outer on the cgb inner and its fine
