How Much Paint?

Are there any painters on the forum??

I'm just about ready to order paint to spray the 5, and I cant decide on how much paint to order. being pearl white, i need a ground, then pearl, followed by clear.

I dont think i'll need as much as pearl, so i was thinking 4 litres ground, 3 litres pearl. Sound reasonable? Both are mixed 60/40 with thinners.

That does sounds about right. Obviously depends on how much you are spraying. i.e engine bay, boot or just a blow over.

Being quite small 3 ltrs of paint done my exterior and parts plus bay nicely.

your in luck! im a painter and ive only just painted m pearl white phase 1,
i used 3 litres of ground coat mixed 2:1 (2 parts paint 1 part thinners) (still got a bit left)
then i used 2 litres of pearl - same 2:1. and got a bit left.

i applied 4 coats of ground. and 7 coats of pearl.

dunno how much clear i used as i buy that in bulk, but 5 litres would paint 2 cars this size

i went for ICI paint as its a better paint, wasnt cheap tho! nearly 300 quid all in
