Does anyone know the closest halfords have in some kind of touch up paint? The lead weights have not been kind to the rims and I thought I would have a go myself before a full refurb.

Don't think I'm being picky but the merc silver is looking to be a poor match, too dark. Any further ideas?

I take it you mean the weight they put on the face of the rim, could you not just get them rebalanced and get them to fit the sticky type on the inside of the alloys.

Take the a hub cap to halfords and check against other colours... or ask them to see there paint chart to get a good match made up ;)

I actually did that anyway but of course the colours on the side of the packs only bear a passing resemblance to what's inside and matching metallic paint is just a nightmar especially as it changes once you apply laquer and even this morning it is closer.
Phil the weights were already on the wheels and I guess have been there since 1991 so the damage was already done on the edge and on one water had got underneath the paint with predictable results.
