So i was drivin along the other day and the 5 just stopped

I had no power thru the accelerator in any gears then the car just cut out just as i got it to the side of the road, no bangs,no smoke,no drama but it just stopped

It still turns on the key but won't fire so has anyone got any ideas?sound familiar? any help would be much appreciated!

your car got air for sure, can you hear the fuel pump? do you have a spark at the king lead?

Can't hear the fuel pump-definatly got a spark from the king lead, u reckon the fuel pumps probably had it then?

It could be the fuel pump relay thats had it.

we had this the other night, was going mad as everything was right.. turn the ignition on, fuel pump runs, starter turns yet no spark.. turns out the last owners have bypassed the relay and it was the tdc lead as first thought.. :crap:

snapped the wire internally:(

how know that feeling. mine did the same a few weeks back. could hear the pump running but it had failed inside so no fuel was going through. i found it easy to get a 12v lamp and conect it to the pump feed wires. when you turn it over if all is well it should light up.

If you have a spark tdc lead will be working ok... My bets are fuel pump relay or duff pump.

Sorry brigsys right i didnt notice you had a spark, If you have a spark then the tdc sensor and loom are good. so sounds like a fuel problem. Check the fuel pump relay. as has been said.
