More good stuff :) :agree:

Looks like it needs a couple of little mods to fit the GTT though Clee. Is everyone here aware of what's required and capable of making the changes?

Also, it says 'the venturi is 24mm not 25mm'. What is the standard size on the GTT and is it going to make any difference?

Anthony at Fastroad has assembled a 5 version but yes it does need some tweaking ,not that much though .
Again , as with the manifolds I can get one sent to someone competent to test fit and function ?

Has he run one on a c1j?

I've tried running a 18 turbo carb. It was mega rich on boost no mater what the jetting the only thing I didn't change was the smaller sized venturi though.

That I don't know .
I've asked The Wizard to advise .Venturi change is not straightforward he says ...awaiting further pearls of wisdom ;)

I think you have to fit some of your old secondhand parts into the new carb the last time I looked at these.

....The Wizard has inspected and compared to the GTT carb.
Looks like there is way too much work involved to make a good job of it .Pretty much all of it is different or a bugger to alter .

Is that an 'I told you so ' wink Mike :p
Wizards findings below .If anyone still fancies trying it or have other opinions then shout up :agree:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok i got the carb today and took various bits of it.
i didnt go measuring all the jets as they can be replaced.

however....this is what i found.

1) http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y269/sparkie_bran/Carb/IMG00130-20110505-1855.jpg

this clearly shows that the casting on top piece of the new carb does not have the pedestals required to screw the studs into that hold the carb top on!

it also shows that the bracket that holds the choke cable is different, as is the throttle cable mount and also the choke plate itself doesnt have the air hole in it.

2)
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y269/sparkie_bran/Carb/IMG00131-20110505-1859.jpg

this shows that the enrichment circuit is also totally different and that there is a vacuum port blocked off on the new carb. the new carb actually has a vac port on the opposite side of the carb, but the feed to it is from under the throttle plate, whereas the standard gtt one actually comes from above the throttle plate.
i'd have said none of the enrichment block is usable....see the next pic...

http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y269/sparkie_bran/Carb/IMG00132-20110505-1903.jpg

i removed the cover of the enrichment circuit and its totally different inside to a normal gtt unit.

3) the venturi is 24mm. so somehow you have to extract your old one. extract the new one, and swap them over.... and get it slotted in the right way.

4)http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y269/sparkie_bran/Carb/IMG00137-20110505-1923.jpg
the accelerator pump feed jet is blocked. - you have to swap that too!

5) i also noticed a different hole size in the enrichment circuit.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y269/sparkie_bran/Carb/IMG00133-20110505-1905.jpg

so overall, it looks as though the only bit that you'd not have to touch is the throttle plate and carb base section.
you can't fit a gtt carb top as it stands, and the venturi will be a bit of a stinker to change.

Hi Lee, no not at all but I had been told about these a while ago. Just nice to know that it was not a waste of time.

Thanks
