Right this is the 4th time within 2-3 weeks that the 5 has all a sudden cut out. Now i saw the rev counter just drop on light throttle so i pulled over igntion off and sat there for a few seconds then igntion on and saw the rev flicker and gave it a shot and it fired up no problems.

The 1st time this happened it was just cranking over so i pulled the fuel line off and turned over to see no fuel so wiggled the relay and hey presto

The 2nd time there was fuel going through so i checked for spark and hey presto put a spare one on from the boot and off i went

and the 3rd time i checked the spark and there was nothing until i got a shock myself a few seconds later! fired t up and away i went

now can i confirm that this will narrow it down to a tdc sensor or something related to the aei playing up?

any advice appreciated :agree:

I got mine from CGB - it was around £15 + postage. Ask him to reduce the postage though as its a small item. Also check his shop on ebay - he sometimes sells his parts a bit cheaper on there.

sounds like its doing the same. i drove 135 miles yestuday with no cutting out so maybe its only slight movement that upset it so maybe theres a break in the wire
