I am currently stripping my 5 engine down so I can fit new clutch and flywheel, remove the sump and paint and also paint the engine block, I've searched through the articles found engine removal guides but nothing on flywheel/clutch and sump removal and refit. Anyone got any links or tips please.
Ps, I've got Haynes but it's basic! :sad2:

Once the engine is out removing the flywheel/clutch/sump is basic stuff mate!

My advice is buy an engine stand to pop the engine on when doing the sump. Clean the sump/blockfaces thoroughly of oil with brake cleaner, Renew the half moon seals & use stikaflex to seal it with, plenty of sealant on the rubber half moon seals..

As for flywheel you will need to locktight/torque the bolts up to whatever the haynes says..just centre the clutch and fit it.

take one 10mm socket on an extension and undo sump bolts...

take an allen key and remove clutch.

remove flywheel bolts, stop flywheel from falling on floor.

I lock the flywheel also before removing and gave up on the wedge the big screwdriver in a long time ago and just cut a bit of steel to size and bolt on :)
