bit of an odd one, hope someone can shed some light on it for me.

today hooning down the quarter the car lost all power, first thought was this is bad, tho engine was dragging down as if the throttle was closed, it was wide open.

any way checked the usuals, cambelt first then a few sensors, tdc off and cleaned tho its allready a newer renault item, had spark so checked for fuel. couldnt hear the pump priming so pulled the lines off and checked, no fuel. round to the boot and pulled off the fuel pump wiring to check it all, no voltage getting to it??? swapped around all the relays in the bay thinking it was one of them as ive had that fault before, fixed by slapping in some new ones, but nothing this time.

was getting on in the day so ran a wire with a switch in it to the fuel pump to get it to run, does run now but obviously hasnt fixed the fault? also the speedo went out and has not worked since so think these may be connected, well they have to be as it stopped working as the fuel pump did. any ideas?

Cant believe you didnt post this in the all new super dooper clio section Adey? :dearme:

Heres a link to the tech files, have a look in the workshop manual section 17-11 onwards

http://www.rtoc.org/files/?path=Technical%20Files/Clio%20Sport%20Service%20Manual/

It looks as though the power runs through the impact sensor so it might be worth starting there

is the fuel gauge working on the dash??

Yeah works fine, it's not priming or running the pump tho, no 12v going to it atall.

tried the crash switch seems fine, unpluged it checked it with a multimeter and even bridged the wires, no difference atall

Imob light goes out so don't think it's that and all the fuses are fine, going to have to strip the car some more and trace the wiring I think

You sure you have found the correct fuse, renault like to hide the main ones. i wish i could think where they are.

There's some under the hood and some on the left of the dash, can't think of any more tho there are lots of relays under the dash

there should b a big white connector inside the drivers footwell under the plastic trim- almost where the bonnet release is but on the opp side!!

iv had the terminals in there mold up and so you loose volts to the fuel pump.
