Renault 5 GT Turbo

I recently discovered that a Murco petrol station near me sells Leaded petrol. I normally run my standard GT Turbo on Shell V Power, but am tempted to try some Leaded.
Leaded fuel was withdrawn just before I got my first GT Turbo so have never run one on it.
The only thing I will check is how regularly the tank gets filled (based on how popular it is amongst locals with older/classic cars). I read that octane rating drops off pretty quickly when petrol sits around and have seen an example of this.
About 10 years ago, a friend took his Subaru Impreza STi off the road for about a year to go away on business. When he returned, we gave the car the once over, got the oil pressure up before trying to start it. The car refused to start...we eventually put it down to the fuel and within about 5 seconds of turning over with fresh fuel, the car started.
