Peoples recomendation

Hi, have decided that I will invest in a welder, has anyone any recomendations? Have seen the clarke automotive arc welder on machine mart at £71.98 would that be any good for a complete novice?

One thing somebody said to me was invest in the very best welder you can afford... buy a cheapy and you want to replace sooner... plus better welders make big jobs easier :)

sign up on there and tell them what you plan to do , i have this as reccomended by them on there.. do be pretty well, had 1 problem with it (sticky valve) was covered as guesture of good will.

go onto the mig welding site that dj mentioned and look for a shop/user called weldequip. pm him with your needs and he will sort everything you need for a great price. we went 3 ways on a clark mig and accesories and the whole lot came to £300 but that was a few years back but the machine has been faultless and the seller has been nothing short of helpfull regarding getting wire, tips and shrouds etc.
