whats the goin rate to pay for a 182 engine on about 50k with box and ecu?

also what other bits off the 182 do you need to put in a 5gt conversion??

Most engines on ebay are going about £500 IIRC last time i looked, if that any help :)

What you need is a phase 1 172 with cable throttle body, ICV, plenium, looms, injectors phase 1 fuel rail and FPR, alternator, starter, GTX mount (although you can mod 5 GTT one), decent fuel pump cossie or similar, modified exhaust manifold and downpipe to name a few things basically what you really need to find yourself is a crash damaged 172 phase 1 that has had rear end shunt or similar and then you will pretty much have everything for the conversion.

If you go for a 172 phase or 182 engine you will nly end up back converting alot of parts for the phase 1 and it's harder to find the parts unless you buy new from renault but then gets ££££

I think my conversion when I done it cost me about £1500k just to use it in n/a form

I ended up with a phase 2 engine out of a cup car and had to back convert it to phase 1, remember the GTT clocks will not work with the 172/ 182 gearbox as it speedo pick up is different I had a box but stuck with the 5 gtt box,m

Forgot to add either stick with the clio ecu and get it demobilisd with an emulator or go standalone.

Engines aren't too expensive these days... Plenty of clios geting broken... You'd probably get £500.00 for that lot.

As for putting it into a 5 its not too hard a job really...

You can use either box but if you use the gtt box you can keep the std speedo.
You need to fabricate a manifold, Its not too hard, use the 172 manifold, cut it up and re-weld in the right place.

A hump in the bonnet will be required if you are using the std inlet plenum.
The front engine mount from a 1.7 F block R5 (Campus?)
Clio cup alternator setup, direct from Reno.
Then it just depends on the ECU, I hear the std ones have all sorts of built in security measures you will need to bypass, speak to andy cooke as he had to go through all that sh!te in his Twingo.
Another thing to consider would be a top engine mount.

Cheers guys, thanks for the quick replys, think the guy wants about 600 for engine box ecu but it's 182 so will there be more work in makin it fit?

So is 1500 for full conversion including the engine etc??
