Seems a lot of people suffer with this - why not make a thermostaicly operated (or adapt the OE) air intake to scavenge from the ambient air around the exhaust manifold.:confused:

A few years this mystic lesser spotted renault five driving Dave from county reading told me.......

He got this issue a lot and in the end found that the little gold tube that squirts fuel into the venturi was squirting on to the side of it and this was freezing on contact. so with a little twist so it now squirts straight down missing the sides of the venturi job sorted. I only got carb freeze two times this winter after doing this. :)

i used to get it with my big big fmic, until i routed the water pipes through the carb base like they are supposed to be, also looped the turbo water pipes together as they were blocked and not flowing through
