, are the rs tuning or k-tec remaps any good , worth while etc with regards extra bhp?, will it affect the general running after a re-map etc of the ecu?, are they worth the pennies or just hype with regards how bhp you will gain? cheers.

Hi jesus, i had a ktec 260 re map done on my v6 and to be brutally honest the only really noticable difference i experienced afterwards was an extremely sensitive and responsive accelerator pedal. Its a bit of a nightmare when your just cruising along and drive over a dip in the road and if your a bit unawares the throttle just explodes and jolts your head back at the tiniest touch. All in all though it gave a slight improvement.

cheers rich , did they dyno it afterwards etc?...would you say the car ran any different?, you didnt experience any problems other than that then..sorry for all the questions bud.

No worries, in a nutshell i would say its made the car more responsive on the throttle. No problems and i had it done a couple or three years back it does seem to pop and bang a lot of unburnt fuel through it when reving up and everytime when letting off the throttle but it sounds and runs sweet i must mention its got janspeed manifolds and sports cats on it and a very short custom stealth exhaust. I love the sound and the performance but one day i am going back to an oe looking custom tailpipe and yes i would like to have a proper rolling road set up after that but when i was down at ktec i only had limited time down there to get my mods done and get back so no dyno. I went on ktecs sight for the first time in a while the other night n they now have a proper rolling road tuning set up link on there and a download about it. Hope that helped.

What Matt at tour de force don't know isn't worth knowing.

And they supplied the ECU for the quickest and fastest fwd car in england.

Top guys.

I'm certain Matt@TDF uses RStunings maps as did ktec a while back however Ktec are keeping everything in house now.

Both Matt and Paul are spot on and very knowledgable lads so going to either you shouldn't have any issues :D

No, he means Andy Specks vauxhall tigra that has since gone faster than the Honda - mapped by Paul @ RS tuning incidently.

Tommy, I don't think TDF supply that ECU, it's from a 3rd party. I think Paul and Matt have had some input on it's development, or something like that.

Pretty sure Andy runs a EC1. We use a EC2 in the mini now with fly by wire.

Either way top guys he he he they have think automotives touring car spec Clio in at the moment. Completely nuts in every way.

Matt has never used anythings of k-tec ECU or mapping wise :)

EC1 is the name they were adopted with. The originator is someone else, as is often the case with a/m ECU's. Look at gems :)

yoooo

does anyone run a stage 1 remap on a megane 225?
I spank a trophy and was looking at increasing the power slightly.
does the fuel economy suffer much?
