Time has come to start thinking about wheels and tyres for the GTA .We have a bigger brake setup but they still might get behind 15" steelies ( need to fire off some dims to some yanks )
Std GTA is 15" 195/50 fronts and 255/45 rears but the rears are feckin stupid money at over £200 a tyre .
Options are poss 15" all round if calipers fit but I'm limited to 225/50 on the rears or 15" front with 16" rear and I can go up to 245 or 16" all round
The GTA always feels/handles better on the smaller rims but I've not really raced it for any length of time ie over a season .
Don't want to be shelling out huge dosh for odd sized tyres so they need to be a normal sort of price for MSA 1A/1B road going .

The RTOC is looking to get MSA registered for motorsport participation and will be looking for a competition CM to handle this and help members with these sorts of queries so applications with your input please or PM one of the CM's .
Registration will mean that members will be able to enter events without having to join the organising bodies in some cases .

Clee, google slicks tyres motorsport , the guy is great and has pretty much the cheapest list 1B tyres around. The Mk 1 and 2 escorts all use quite wide 15" tyres, but they are all expensive, it costs me £276 a pair for Dunlop x22 (soft), but when compared to the other cr@p on the market they put them to shame (standfast the Khumos).

I am taking on the secretary role for my motorsports club, and would happily help out as required.

What series are you planning to compete in?

MartinF and I are hoping to get into this this year but lots to prep to do including ourselves .We may make one or two races late in the series :coffee:

With regards the MSA stuff we need someone to hold hands and point in direction rather than be a rules guru ;) someone with experience in competition would be ideal .
It's all a bit scary at first glance but with someone in the club willing to help I'm sure we would see a lot more members flying up hills ,round tracks and through forests

We need someone to submit the application and deal with the MSA side off things as well as be there to offer advice :agree:
